Secrets of the 11th house

SECRETS OF THE 11TH HOUSE: EXPRESSING YOUR TALENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF SOCIETY

The 11th house is the most treasured of houses because it is said that all planets do well here and fulfill our desires. It is connected to gains from work (2nd from the 10th). Still it is a much more complicated house than most astrologers will admit as it is 6th from the 6th house and can cause health problems and it is connected to groups and associations and our karma with them which is not always easy. In Part 1 we will discuss the much over-looked connection of the 11th house to groups, society and community and in Part 2 we will discuss how the 11th house reveals much about your income and the ability to fulfill your desires.

The 11th house is the house of friends and associations and it is opposite the 5th house showing who we like to play and do recreation with. It is the playground where we venture out into society and sometimes a place where we want to change the world. It is connected with the natural 11th sign of the zodiac, Aquarius, where social action seeks to move out of the ambitious 10th house and move into the world to effect change for the betterment of society. But for those of you who work with groups, it is not an easy place as our behavior becomes critical and vulnerable to other’s opinions of how other sees. Our creativity of the 5th house is tested here as we express who we are and have society judge it. As we move into society we hope our creativity and our dreams will come true to create humanitarian changes. That means the 11th house is connected to community and how we band together with others to create something bigger to support the collective.

The 11th house is about our highest ambitions for the world, including wanting to make a difference in society. It reflects our ability to take the talents and status and ambitions of the 10th house and move it out into our community and effect change. If we have some success in our life, we naturally want to help those around us. The great philanthropists like Andrew Carnegie and Alfred Nobel did this. At some point, we have to realize that if we have a lot of money and we do not share it with others, than we are missing the point. The 11th house forces us into the world to express our gifts for the benefit of mankind. My spiritual teacher was fond of saying that if we are given money in our life, it meant to be shared with your community and the world and not for hoarding.

The 11th house is the house of dreams and fulfillment of desires. If it is connected to Jupiter or Pisces or a strong Sun or Leo it can be filled with great with hope, optimism, faith, ambition, and triumph. Transits through the 11th house bring fulfillment of desires and joy and this is why it is so cherished.

The 11th house is not a picnic place as many astrologers might describe it as it connected to the natural complex 11th zodiacal sign of Aquarius which is Vedic astrology is co-owned by Rahu and Saturn and in Western astrology has a connection to Uranus. Rahu by nature creates deep desire which is often illusive like chasing a carrot on a sick and Saturn brings deep karmic surprises. Aquarius anywhere in the chart is often connected to deep karmic suffering and there is a hidden quality to the 11th house because it is 6th from the 6th that it can bring challenges and health issues and these may arise out of complex seething anger and failed interactions with groups. When the group disapproves, we can be cast into a deep funk like the oddball Rahu character judged by the Saturnian community crowd and hence there are some underlying time-bombs hidden in the 11th house in our ability to express our talents in society but if they are judged poorly, we can be sent down a black hole. Social rejection can bring deep suffering of our creativity from the 5th house is rejected. I remember Saturn going through my 11th house a few years back and doing some pioneering humanitarian outreach in my community only to have the snipers and vultures come in and tear my achievement down out of jealousy. There are hidden perils in this house.

There is some “Weltsmertz” here or suffering for the pain of the world. We may seek to benefit and help society as we come more sensitive here and dream for a better world but local politics may drag us down to earth and create suffering and in the end that may breakout into illness. I remember that I became very sick after years of politics in my spiritual organization so the 11th house is not always the picnic that is often painted to be. We might suffer in this house, but such suffering increases our sensitivity to the sufferings of others. Experiences here inspire us to dream of a better world. We are put to the test in the 11th house whether we can take our ambitions of the 10th house and realize our dreams for a better society or be cast out and rejected. We are deeply tested here whether we can change society or be taken down by the competitive political wolves who are more interested in their self-glorification than really helping society.

Major transits of the more mature outer planets going through our 11th house like Jupiter or Saturn or the outer planets Neptune and Uranus and Rahu may trigger a longer stint at changing society and getting into the political ring or making a difference in society. Jupiter will support community growth and change positive but Saturn will create a long arduous journey of hard work and battling to create a better world. Neptune will give us utopian visions and ideals that may not be possible and Uranus and Rahu will give more revolutionary energy and grass roots outreach to inspire us to create a new society against one that is not working. In a sense one of the secrets of the 11th house and its natural connection to Rahu through Aquarius is to change stale and worn-out components of society. In a sense it is an outlaw toward conservatism which is often so much a part of Saturn and Capricorn.

Neptune wants an ideal society but as we know, Utopia means “no-place” and so our hopes and dreams for a better future become a huge battle against the conservative forces that resist change. Jupiter’s liberal values may also be too unreal if Jupiter is afflicted or the 11th house afflicted. Still the 11th house is an important place to move into society and our community to express our talents. It may be a difficult fight but it is part of our purpose on the planet.

We can learn so much by looking at nature and ant and bee colonies and the wonderful way they work together for the whole. The 11th house draws into moving outside of ourselves and doing something bigger for the planet. Do we heed the call or are we taken down by the political forces around us. If your 11th house is strong than you have a good chance to make a difference and it is one worth doing. Given the Rahu self-centered, greedy and corrupt world that has been developing over the past 30-40 years, we have our work cut out for us but go out and make a difference. Take on the call of the 11th house and create a better world.

PLANETS IN THE 11th HOUSE

Charts are very unique. The Sign owning the 11th house, planets in the 11th house, planets aspecting the 11th house and exchange of house and yogas will impact and color the interpretation of this house. Here is a quick but simplistic cookbook about your connection to groups and community and politics:

PLANETS ASSOCIATED TO THE 11TH HOUSE:

The effects of planets in or associated with the eleventh house:

SUN IN THE 11TH: There is an inherent conflict between the ego of the Sun and its personal ambitions and the needs of the collective in the 11th house. Put Sun together with Rahu and you get politicians who crave personal power over societal needs.

MOON in the 11th HOUSE: The moon by nature is public and orientated toward service in the 11th house but if afflicted its heart connection to changing communities can easily lead to emotional wounds from doing service and community work.

MARS IN THE 11TH HOUSE: Mars may be too ambitious and competitive in this house and put its ego ahead of societal needs. Personal goals may be in conflict with collective ones but passion and enthusiasm my triumph in creating change if supported by Jupiter.

MERCURY IN THE 11TH HOUSE: Mercury if strong in Virgo or Gemini or Libra or Taurus can bring its intelligence to create positive change in society and be a great spokesman for bring about change. Put it connected to Mars or Aries or Scorpio and it will be too argumentative and have huge problems in groups. Place it in Pisces and it will be too idealistic and not practical to bring about change.

JUPITER IN THE 11TH HOUSE: Connect Jupiter to Pisces or Sagittarius and the 11th house and there may be too much idealism and hope and a lack of practicality to bring change and this can lead to disappointment.

VENUS IN THE 11TH HOUSE: If Venus is strong and connected to Pisces and Libra and Taurus or Gemini or Aquarius it can excel at relationship skills to bring about change with a wonderful sense of devotion and may reach out to help women and children with great poise and grace.

SATURN IN THE 11TH HOUSE: Hard work, suffering and perseverance will bring change eventually if Saturn has dignity connected to Libra, Capricorn or Aquarius or Pisces or Sagittarius but if afflicted there may be a lack of confidence to create the change and illicit a why bother attitude in Aries. Still a practical and determined effort will lead to success in service and that is why Saturn and politics and service are so connected.

RAHU IN THE 11TH HOUSE: If there is dignity in Aquarius, Taurus, Gemini or Virgo then there can be a lot of charisma and ambition and success in bringing society and community change. If afflicted and connected to Scorpio or Sagittarius or Capricorn, there may be too much radicalism and revolutionary energy to make a difference.

KETU IN THE 11TH HOUSE: Ketu is the recluse and the wandering saint and often dislikes groups or bolstering its standing in the community. This placement may lead to withdraw from society. Still if there is dignity in Scorpio, Sagittarius, Leo or Pisces, there can be a strong charitable and humanitarian desire to move and help society and lead to philanthropy.

BHPS – Vol 1, CHAPTER 47, GIRISH CHAND SHARMA

BHAVA KUTUHALAM – GIRISH CHAND SHARMA

Parasara states that before judgement of results the states of the planets must be looked at. Planets have five different states:

  1. Baalaadhi – maturity
  2. Jagradadi – alertness
  3. Deeptaadi – status
  4. Lajjitaadi – mood (such as proud, shy etc.)
  5. Shayanaadi – condition of activity
  6. Baaladhi
This state reflects the maturity of the planet and there are five kinds listed in the table below. The planet that falls in the first six degrees of an odd sign is called a Bala (childlike). It will only give 25% of its results. The table below shows the states of the planets in different degrees and signs. Note that the results are reversed for even signs.

See the table
It is said that planets such as Sun and Mars give the best results in Balaavastha( infant) , Jupiter and Venus in the Yuva (Youth) and Moon and Saturn in Vriddha( old age). Mercury yields good results always.

  1. Jagratadi
This condition shows the general alertness of the planet and there are three types. When a planet in own sign or exaltation is known as a Waker or Jagrit. In the waking state, the planet is fully aware of the physical, mental and emotional world and its working. A planet in dream state or Swapna avastha is highly emotional and lives in the reality that is projected by circumstances and its mind. A planet in deep sleep or “shushupti” and is ignorant of what is happening in the outside world. It is natural that planet is not useful for acquiring material possessions.
  2. Deeptaadi Avasthas

This avastha reflects the status or the dignity of the planets and there are 9 kinds in total. This states takes into consideration its position within house. The most important aspect to look at in Deeptaadi state is that planets in the first four avasthas (when planets are in exaltation, own house/mulatrikona and in a friend’s house) yield fairly good results during the dashas. Further the “guna” exhibited by them is Uttama, which is higher. The planets have high ideals and are mostly working in a satvic state.

In the Middle three categories, planets are set to exhibit Madhyama Guna which is more Rajasic and self-centred. In the last three, they exhibit Adhama Guna which is very tamasic and not good for society. Naturally before concluding and making predictions, one would look at the natural and temporal friendships, conjunctions and aspects.

  1. Lajjitaadi

This avastha reflects the mood of the planet. The various conditions and the results are summarised below.
Parasara further elaborates the results of these types of avasthas in various houses in BHPS Chapter 47 (Shloka 24-29) of the BHPS. Particular attention needs to be paid to any of the planets placed in inauspicious states in the 10th, 7th and 5th houses.

  1. Shayanaadi

This avastha relates to the condition of various activities. These are arrived at by carrying out calculations that involve taking into account the serial number of planet, of the nakshatra it is in, the navamsha it is in, the ishta gathi of the person who we are doing the calculations for. The various states are described below.

For understanding the method of calculation as well as details of the results of each planet in all the conditions, readers are advised to refer to BHPS Chapter 47 (Shlokas 40-156). I have summarised them below in a table. Specific attention needs to be paid to planets in 5th, 7th, 8th and 10th houses

It is to be noted that in judgement of results, the planets with auspicious avastha give excellent results but are influenced by the Chesthas (waking states). These are arrived by further calculations that involve taking into account the first letter or the first name of the person and the avastha arrived at previously.

Dhrishti Chestha gives middling results, Chestha gives full and Vicheshta (motionless) gives very little results. On the contrary, if planets are in inauspicious states, the evil effects of the planets are reduced to medium, fully reduced or negligibly reduced.

To conclude, one can say that the effects of the avasthas are not to be taken in isolation, but more importantly applied in yogas and conjunctions and judgement of planets in various houses and the dashas.

A Case Study – Dominique Strauss Kahn (DSK)

Dominique Strauss Kahn, a prominent French Politician and former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund was indicted in a court case in New York (on allegations of sexual misconduct) just months before he was going to be proposed as the nominee for the Presidential elections in France in 2011. This incident brought him shame, embarrassment and huge fall from his political and financial career. Let’s examine his chart.

He has Cancer Lagna with Moon in the 9th House. The 10th House immediately stands out with an exalted Sun conjunct with the Yogakaraka Mars, who is in a Ruchaka Yoga. This shows him as a natural leader who has enterprise, characterized by Sun in Aries representing the Dhatr Aditya. Mercury’s presence though not very close, further enhances his personality by bestowing him the Nipuna Yoga.

He has two strong Raja Yogas, Yoga Karaka Mars in the 10th House and conjunction of Venus (4th lord) and Mars (5th and 10th lord) that guarantee him wealth and success.

He has several Raja Sambandha Yogas that assure him royal favour – Atma Karaka Rahu with Amartya Karaka Mercury (very intelligent minister and liked by the kind) and Atma Karaka Rahu with the 5th lord Mars.

On 15th May 2011, when he was arrested, he was running Moon maha dasha and Rahu antar dasha. Let’s examine the states and the moods of his planets

Moon, the lagna lord and the maha dasha lord is in vriddha avastha, psychologically an old man and incapacitated, promising very little in results. It is in a “Swapna or dream state” – away from reality and caught with its own projections (no wonder he got caught), and further in Deenaavastha, which guarantees a fall. The most important aspect to look for is the guna of the planet which will be “madhyama”, which means he is only looking out for himself (unlike a planet in exaltation which has higher ideals).

It was an allegation by a woman of rape that caused his downfall. It may have been a set up, but he has been linked with many women of lower status in the past years which is shows that guna is not Uttama with respect of women. A debilitated Jupiter (although with a Neecha Bhanga as Mars is in a Kendra from Lagna) in the 7th house does not help his behaviour with women.

Let’s examine the condition of Rahu, the antardasha lord. He is also in Balavastha, however placed with his enemy Rasi with Sun and Mars. He is therefore Dukhita, Vikala, Kopa and Kshudita (hungry) making him very agitated, angry and mentally restless. The guna exhibited will be adhama not very conducive for the society. The placement of Rahu with Mars is not very fortunate signifying massive blockages. (Kuja Stambhana Yoga).

“A planet in Kshudhita the native will have a downfall due to grief, passion, relatives, troubles from enemies and an eclipsed mind.”

Mars is in Ruchaka Yoga, but is with two malefics Sun and Rahu giving it the Kshobita status. Nevertheless the guna here is Uttama as he is in in Mulatrikona rasi.

“Parasara says that a planet in Kshobita avastha will cause penury, evil disposition, miseries, financial losses and distress to feet and obstruction in incomes to royal wrath”.

Sun is exalted therefore Jagrit and Deepta, however it is also modified by the presence of its enemy Venus and malefics such as Rahu and Mars. This is condition is described as Lajjita. This would have made him a little less god fearing and lose his sense of discrimination.

Finally Venus though placed in a neutral sign, is Lajjita and Kshobita.

Parashara says that “a native in the 10th house of whose horoscope are situated planets that are Lajjita and Trashita or Kshudita or Kshobita will be subjected to much misery”. The fruits of those houses in which the Kshudita and kshobita planets are placed will be destroyed”

DSK was running the Maha dasha of Moon and the antar dasha of Rahu placed in the 10th house with planets that are Lajjita, Kshobita and Kshudita. All of them wiped out his 10th house. Ultimately the same Raja yogas that promised him success and fame brought his downfall. Mars and Rahu combination in Ashwini brought some unsavoury actions and connections. Mars and Venus initially brought him a lot of wealth and fame but could not be sustained. The dhana yoga promised by association of Sun and Venus is not fully lost. He is still wealthy. As Venus is the only planet that is in Yuvaavastha where the results will be experienced fully. Venus is also the Badhaka lord.

Further analysis of the shayanadi, states that the Moon is in Agamavastha (Two wives, wicked and stubborn), which is not very auspicious. As the Cheshta is Dhrishti, the effects will be reduced. So his conditions should improve and if he does serious remedies (especially for the conjunction of Mars and Rahu) there will be more chances to rise again in the Mars Maha dasha. His 10th lord Mars is aspected/conjunct with four other planets in a Kendra. This is Pravrajya yoga so emancipation is possible.

OM TAT SAT

Divisional chart – trishamamsha(d30)

DIVISIONAL CHART I: TRIMSAMSA (D-30)

WRITTEN BY VARAHMIHIR (SAROJIT PODDAR JI)
GUIDE AND GURU PT SANJAY RATH JI.

Trimsamsa chart is used to delineate various kinds of evils one is likely to face. The key signification of the divisional charts can be known by finding out the root of the divisional chart, by expunging the multiple of 12. Trimsamsa means 30th division and by expunging the multiple of 12, we arrive at 6 (30-12*2 ), which is the house of diseases, servants/ service, enemies and ltigation (troubles we face in this world due to external circumstances). Different harmonics of divisional charts are concerned with different level of consciousness within which the effect it shown.

Physical- Primary (D-1 to D-12)
Conscious- Secondary/ First harmonic (D-13 to D-24)
Sub-Conscious- Tertiary/ Second harmonic (D-25 to D-36)
Super- Conscious- Quaternary/ Third harmonic (D-37 to D-48)
Supra- Conscious- Pentenary/ Fourth harmonic (D-49 to D-60)
Beyond Material Consciousness- Beyond fourth harmonic (>D-60)

Trimsamsa or D-30 falls under the boundaries of second harmonic or domain of the sub-conscious and hence shows the effect of the enemies which are embeded in our sub-conscious mind and troubles our existance from within. Since it deals with sub-consiciousness and the house of enemies, we must understand that our biggest enemies are our 6 source of weaknesses, which repeatedly bring us to this material existence like invisible shakles binding us strongly and preventing us from soaring high, being free!

Thus it is important to realise these enemies within and overcome them and then only we can be free. This makes this division very crucial to be examined as we are all in the path of spiritual evolution and breaking the shakles of material weaknesses can enable us to cross the boundaries of human beings.

Though in male nativity it is very significant, in a female nativity, it is more as they are bearer of the moral thread in this material existence and hence this divisional chart is extensively used for finding out her moral character.

Though there are various trimsamsas, the current topic of discussion is “the Parashari Trimsasa” This chart is used to know about diseases which is borne out of our inherent weaknesses or the shad-ripus. The shadripus are broadly signified by Saturn, the Karaka of sixth house for diseases. The six sources of weakness can be attributed to affliction to one of the pancha tattvas (five primordial elements ) and thus shall show the kind of diseases one would suffer with. Because our exisitance is due to the intermingling of the five tattvas which govern various part of our being and this divisional chart is based on the principles of tattvas, it shows kind of character one has and also the time of manifestation of such character.

The six shadripus are governed by 6 planets of the 9 planets. The lumineries are left out as they are the sources of light and remover of all weaknesses. Along with the Lumineries, Jupiter is also left out as it represents the divinity in a horoscope and hence cannot be the source of any weaknesses. Its the blessings of Jupiter, the ruler of Akasha Tattva (Ethery Element), that we can be free from the weaknesses, as it represents the wish of the divine consiousness. These three planets also have one thing in common, they are of Sattva guna, which is the purest form of divine matifestation and cannot be attributed to any weaknesses. The planets governing the six weaknesses are given below:

  1. Mars- Anger ( Krodha )
  2. Mercury- Jealousy (Matsarya)
  3. Venus- Lust (Kama)
  4. Saturn- Intoxication (Mada)
  5. Rahu- Greed ( Lobha)
  6. Ketu- Illusion ( Moha )

METHOD OF CALCULATION
Parashara in BPHS, chapter 6 gives the method of calculation of the Trimsamsa in the following slokas:
triMshAMsheshAshcha vishhame kujarkIjyaGYabhArgavAH
paMchapaMchAshhTasaptAxabhAgAnAM vyatyayAt.h same 27

vahniH samIrashakrau cha dhanado jaladastathA
vishhameshhu kramAjGYeyAH samarAshau viparyayAt.h 28

Meaning: The Trimsamsa Lords for an odd Rasi are Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury and Venus. Each of them in order rules 5, 5, 8, 7 and 5 degrees. The deities, ruling over the Trimsamsas are Agni, Vayu, Indra, Kuber and Varuna respectively. In the case of Even Rasi the quantum of Trimsamsas, Grah lordship and deities get reversed.

Thus for ODD signs, the trimsamsa can be found by placing the planets in ODD signs, in the signs ruled by the planets in the following order

  1. Mars- 0 to 5 deg – Aries
  2. Saturn- 5 to 10 deg- Aquarius
  3. Jupiter- 10 to 18 deg- Sagittarius
  4. Mercury- 18 to 25 deg- Gemini
  5. Venus- 25 to 30 deg- Libra

For example, if a planet is placed in 3deg 10min in Leo. We note the sign which is an ODD sign and the degree which happens to be 4th degree. So the trimsamsa of this planet would be Mars’s (4th deg) ODD sign (because the planet is placed in ODD rasi in D-1 chart), which is Aries Trimsamsa.

However, for Even Trimsamsa, the sequence is reversed, i.e., the 1st Trimsamsa of an even sign would fall in Venusian sign and the last one would fall in Martian sign. The sequence of rulership of Trimsamsa is given below:

  1. Venus- 25 to 30 deg- Taurua
  2. Mercury- 18 to 25 deg- Virgo
  3. Jupiter- 10 to 18 deg- Sagittarius
  4. Saturn- 5 to 10 deg- Capricorn
  5. Mars- 0 to 5 deg – Scorpio

INTERPRETATION

  1. Troubles due to enemity among tattvas:
We must know that the Agni – Jala and Prthvi – Vayu are the set of antagonistic tattvas and they have difficulty in co-existence. Whenever there is any association of these pairs of antagonistic tattvas, troubles manifest in different forms. For example:

1.1. If Rasi chart is in Agni Tatwa and Trimsamsa shows Jala Tatwa (opposite of Agni Tatwa) or vice- versa , there is sure to be plenty of problems.

1.2. Dasa / AD lord which are mutually hostile by owning opposite Tatwas create many serious problems. Such as Sat Dasa- Ven AD or vice versa. Similarly Merc Dasa- Mars AD or vice versa are also troublesome.

1.3. When Trimsamsa shows contradictory influences on any pair, bad results are likely to follow.

  1. Planets and Tattvas
As per the Brhat Parashari Hora Shastra, he five tattvas are governed by five planets from Mars to Saturn. The lumineries and the nodes are left out as they do not have any rulership in the parashari trimsamsa. More than that Sun, Moon and the nodes represent the cycle of birth and death (i.e., the “purpose”) whereas, other planets show the “process” of creation and destruction-

Agni- Fire- Mars
Prthvi- Earth- Mercury
Jala- Water- Venus
Vayu- Air- Saturn
Akash- Ether- Jupiter

  1. Tattvas and Deities
Each tattva has a guiding deity, whom one must worship to get over the weaknesses related to that particular tattva. They are as follows:

Agni- Surya
Prthvi- Ganesha
Jala- Devi
Vayu- Shiva
Akasha- Narayana

  1. The Four Trikonas (Trines)
The 12 signs in the zodiac are divided into four sets of three each. These four sets have strong correlation with four tattvas (which repeat with each set) and the four goals of human existence namely, Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. Lets study the interelationships which is as follows:

3.1. Agni Trikona- Houses and Signs (1,5,9)- Dharma Ayana
3.2. Prthvi Trikona- Houses and Signs (2,6,10)- Artha Ayana
3.3. Vayu Trikona- Houses and Signs (3,7,11)- Kama Ayana
3.4. Jala Trikona- Houses and Signs (48,12)- Moksha Ayana

Akasha Tattva (Ethery Element) binds all the tattvas together and represents the guiding force or supreme consiousness, which form the stratum where the play of the different tattvas take place.

  1. Special Houses in Trimsamsa:
    4th house: House of Cure
12th house: Hospitals or the place of cure
  2. While 6th house is the house of enemies, the 8th house is the house of debt and hence the trimsamsa chart shows Shadripu that aperson acquires in his life and the 8th house represent the congenital weaknesses one is born with as debt of past life karma.
  3. Prasna Marga says that diseases can be of two types, Nija, arising out of inherent weaknesses (congenital weakness of some body part, such as liver- diabetes, lungs- asthma, heart- blood pressure) and Agantuk, which comes from external sources such as the pathogens like, bacterias and viruses (also known as Pathogenic diseases).
  4. Each of these has two sub- categories. Nija disease can affect either the body (8H) or mind (8H & 5H). Agantuka can be of two types — Drishta (known causes- 6H ) and Adrishta (unknown causes , Badhak and Badhakesh). In trimasamsa we deal with the weakness of body, mind and the soul (weakness inherited from past births)
  5. If one is conscious of forces at work in Trimsamsa, one would not have any weakness at all. This is the best remedy of any weaknesses. So be aware of thy weaknesses.
  6. Lagna of any chart shows the native himself. Lagna Trimsamsa shows his weaknesses. It shows what has been defined as Avishnu (i.e not Vishnu or against Vishnu ). In this it is opposite of what is shown by a Drekkana chart, the chart of strengths (governed by the Maharishis). The sources of weaknesses (and related troubles) can be seen from the three houses which control the longevity, i.e., Lagna, Eighth and Tenth. Whereby the strength of the lords of these three houses give the clue to the longevity of the house under consideration, affliction to these houses by natural malefics or Kayesha (6th lord of Rasi Chart), shows troubles in the area governed by them. The significance of each of these houses are given below:

Lagna: Planets in Lagna will show weaknesses acquired during current birth directly related to bodily weaknesses. If any of Shadripu coming from any planet is in Lagna, this is a weakness that has developed in this birth due to inherent weakness of Trimsamsa Lagna itself ( which means intelligence, learning etc.). In addition to planets in Lagna, LL of this chart will indicate the Tatwa that has become strong or weak . Lagna Lord of Trimsamsa chart shows the exact nature of disease.

10th House: Planets (Malefics) afflicting the 10th house denoting Shadripu shows mental weaknesses where weaknesses develop due to various pressures which the mind fails to counter.

8th House: Planets afflicting eighth house shows weaknesses inherited from past incarnation as this is the house of debt, which binds us to the karma in past birth.

  1. The house arrived at by counting the Trimsamsa Lagna from the Janma is a very crucial house and shows the the area of life the person shall be troubled due to the weaknesses.

TIMING THE WEAKNESSES
Naisargika Dasa ( natural period ) is a wonderful tool in finding out negative experiences one is likely to go through in this life.

Mars: 2 to 5
Mercury: 5 to 12
Venus: 13 to 32
Jupiter: 33 to 50
Saturn: beyond 50

Any afflictions to these planets will show negative experiences in the corresponding age group. In particular curses on these planets should be checked in Trimsamsa.

REMEDIES

  1. A remedy can be suggested based on Trimsamsa Lagna. Based on the following planets lording the lagna, the remedies can be suggested as per the list given below:

Saturn- Pranayama.
Jupiter- Meditation.
Mars- Light a lamp.
Venus- Puja or Daan.
Mercury- Mantra Japa.

In this context Mantra Mahodadhi opines that one who worships Panchadevata everyday (as per table above) shall have a smooth life and shall always be protected irrespective of evils, because all Trimsamsas are covered by this worship. In Panchopachara Puja, the five tattvas can be propitiated by using the materials signified by them as per the followin table:

Agni- Deepa – Lighting a lamp
Prthvi- Gandha- Perfume
Vayu- Dhoopa- Incense stick
Jala- Naivaidya- Food
Akasha- Pushpa/ Mantra- Flower/ Mantra

Best remedy (Pt. Sanjay Rath)

Best remedy for any planet is to worship the Deity concerned with the planet’s trimsamsa. E.g., If Sun is in Saturn’s (Vayu) Trimsamsa then worship Shiva for relief from negative Sun. The dieties to be worshipped for getting over of negetivities of planets placed in different Trimsamsas are as follows:

Mars’s Trimsamsa- Agni- Surya
Mercury’s Trimsamsa- Prthvi- Ganesha
Venus’s Trimsamsa- Jala- Devi
Saturn’s Trimsamsa- Vayu- Shiva
Jupiter’s Trimsamsa- Akasha- Narayana

I am not sure why we often underestimate, and sometimes forget, the power of these things. Perhaps we have simply become too familiar with those around us and have forgotten the powerful effect our words and actions can have on their lives. Or maybe we just feel that some people do not really need–or want–our input and interactions in their lives. Whatever the case may be, the truth remains that almost everything we say and do to others has some effect–either positive, negative, or both–in their lives, our lives, and the lives that we both touch.

And although we most likely will not solve anyone else’s problems or turn their life around by sharing a smile, offering kind words, or being there for them to talk to, we should always keep in mind that our smiles, compliments, listening ears, and compassionate acts, are just part of the puzzle–they go on to become part of a greater whole, a whole that gives hope and peace to someone and would remain incomplete without our contribution.

When I was in grade school, my teacher had the class put our name on a blank sheet of paper and then pass it around the room to all the other children. And as each sheet of paper came to our desk, we were asked to write a compliment about the person whose name appeared on the top. I still have my piece of paper today as a reminder, and proof, that the positive words and actions of others really do have the power and potential to turn another’s life around.

we do have the power and ability to help others in big and small ways–to make them feel good about life and living. Why not use it as often as we possibly can?

Some new insight into wearing of jewellery

SOME NEW INSIGHTS INTO WEARING OF JEWELRY

WRITTEN BY KHOO HOCK LEONG

Jyotisha normally only recommend South Sea Pears as a 3rd option for jyotish. They rather recommend fresh water pearls or naturally grown pearls. Both types have a closer link with the significations of the Moon – freshwater rather than alkaline and being domesticated. Also they are round and creamy white, just like the Moon, and even the growth by placing a metallic irritant in the oyster, has something to do with the heart. They also usually have no blemishes becausevof their smaller size, which is good for the Moon.

If you have good Moon and Venus contacts in your chart, then you should should go for the larger, but must be round and preferably peacock colour (a combination of red, blue, green and grey when you look from various angles and also get the iridescent feel). Venus rules the sea, and this piece of jewelry can give you a Raja Yoga.

Aquamarine gives you friendship and also overseas friends. It gives a peaceful life. Some astrologers claim it comex under Venus and Saturn, but that is more for Lapis Lazuli for healing and the occult (Saturn close ties with thr 8th and Venus for the 11th, the latter being this is the only house above the horizon which has something to with gains but no spirituality involved unlike the 9th; Venus likes to show off). Turquoise is also Venus+Saturn stone, giving protection from evils emanating from higher echelons of life, remembering that Venus+Saturn are asuras.

So Aquamarine has more to do with Mars (Hanuman) and Venus (the sea, Lakshmi emanating from the sea). You can also take it that Varuna the lord of the sea helping Hanuman to cross the sea to reach Ravana, and Venus typically represent all water spirits including the sea god.

Agate is the oldest form of stone and existed even before all the other stones. You can typically buy agate of different colours to cover different planets.

Yellow for Sun
Red for Mars
White (translucent) for Jupiter, but if Jupiter is in Aquarius, it acts like for the Moon as well
Green for Mercury
Transparent colourless (like the rock crystal) for Venus
Brown with bands for Ketu
Orange for Rahu (it acts like the orange version of Sunstone, the other colour for Sunstone is cinammon red like hessonite)

You want to open a niche in the industry? Wear the 20 face Rudraksha. The deity is Brahma who holds the knowledge of creation in his hands.

20 divided by 12 is 8, add up the digits you get 2. The 2nd-8th house axis represrnts skills, talents, tappung into the semi-conscious to get the legacy bequeathed to mankind, like vedic astrology.

10×2 gives 20. So from the 10th bhava you end up in the 11th bhava.

10 house is your career and karma. 11 house is gains, knowledge, results, things that can be used by humanity in genera.
7 mukhi rudraksha has a combination of Venus and Saturn where Venus is the karaka of the 7th and Satyrn is digbala. It quells the suddenness of the 7th so that one can concentrate on making a living using one’s own effort (the Lagna).

What are the gems representing Mercury and Venus? They are Emerald and Diamond respectively.

Emerald is the stone that comes with a WIDE price range depending on the quality. They also can come with inclusions or not, the degree of inclusions also vary widely. Other factors which vary widely for emeralds are their cut and clarity.

Diamonds as you know are graded by their 4Cs. Cut, clarity, carat and colour. For Jyotish, colourless, transparent diamonds are superior, which is also the higher end of the colour spectrum, although in the Western and cosmopolitised Eastern societies like Singapore and Hong Kong, red diamonds are also prized but not by Jyotish.

So you can see there are different grades of Mercury and Venus, MORE SO than any other stone anyway. the gemstones chosen for Mars, Moon, Rahu and Ketu should be opaque based on a famous Nadi Astrologer book.

These 4 planets based on Nadi Astrology teaching are obstructive, they prevent you from fulfilling your karma obligations (except ketu who can grant you moksha once you can complete all your karma).

Opaque version of their gemstones become in Physics what is known as “blackbodies” (perfect absorbers and radiators) of their respective rays.

So this would help deflect their respective rays, your aura is not contaminated by them because they are perfectly absorbed by the stone, and neither does your body absorb them because the stones are perfect radiators.

Bloodstone, red coral, pearls etc. are examples of stones that should be opaque…..but South Sea pearls being iridescent as mentioned earlier does not condone the principle of the pearl being translucent either : they are separate issues.

Now how about Rahu and Ketu stones? Let’s talk about Ketu first.

Ketu stones can be black or dark shades of the Earth or red etc. and opaque but the dividing line (cat’s eye) must be clearly visible. Basically it means that although ketu’s rays are harmful (that is why an opaque stone), you want to be detached from materiality. The underlying stone details are not important, because whether material or spiritual, we ultimately come from darkness (Shiva), although Vishnu (the light) fashion us from pieces of the darkness through Brahma.

But ketu’s stone can be translucent too like the chrysoberyll cat’s eye. This is for people who have higher spirituality and is quite clear what aspects of materiality are holding them back, for their own individual particular case, so this stone can help them detach with an accelerative effort, meaning fewer re-births.

Rahu’s stone? Its opaque version like the black onyx, engender us to be devoted to God whatever the circumstances. God would take care of us as Yama would record whatever deeds we do on Earth through his aide Chitragupta.

But the translucent Hessonite gives us the vision to think big (and earn more karma through big deeds and actions), yet we still do not have to worry so much about our deeds and actions too, so long we walk on the path of dharma.

Chaotic planetary formations for 2019

CHAOTIC Planetary formations for 2019: MAY JUNE JULY2019

WRITTEN BY MILIND N CHITAMBAR

MARS and SATURN exactly opposite each other this week. It is tough for injury accidents and vehicles. Shani Ketu since sometime is about cyclones/hurricanes and bad events/near water.

VRISHCHIK and KIRK Must drive carefully. Health – body heat etc.
MITHUN & DHANU — health be careful, Chaos in partnerships/collaborations.
TULA and MESH — Issues in travels
KANYA — Domestic troubles.
Kumbh and Singh – -Watch kids but good gains too.

2019 next few months and especially mid-May-2019 to July end are going to be quite chaotic and happening with the planetary formations. Some observations below:

(1) Wakri Shani and Wakri Guru actually help as Karma is not delivered in a fast and furious manner! This might be the first time since 1992 I might have expressed something positive above Wakri Planets! 🙂 Shani Guru being Wakri the events are delivered slowly and with less intensity than usual. It is maybe cumulative as painful as faster direct planets but it is much easier for a human to take slow matters for physical pains and faster matters for mental stress. So yes, Mentally Sadesati and fatigue of Mesh might be increased more – but physical harm is a bit reduced.

2) SHANI KETU yuti is cyclone prone and also health issues prone for folks who have Shani Ketu or wakri planets with Ketu in intense nakshatra (cancerous stuff).
(3) MANGAL gets opposite SHANI from MAY-07 and stays there till JUNE-23.
a. This is usually anyways resulting in some accidents and injuries etc. This time more so as Mangal with Rahu (agitation and aggression anger) and Shani with Ketu!!
b. OVERALL world-over accidents injuries – railway and airplanes etc chaos could happen. WEATHER could impact fights and travels plans quite a bit
c. As Mangal rashi-swami this hurts Vrishchik and Mesh more with vehicles, injuries and wrong decisions with sports or sudden physical movements. If PATIENCE is kept there is hardly any damage. Night-time travel could be avoided.
d. This is also not the best for KIRK as Mangal 12th house and
e. Also, not the best for MAKAR rashi as Shani Ketu 12th house.
f. MESH TULA folks it would impact a greater number of times as who have very high probability of travels in these periods as these planets are 3 and 9 to them. Need to take care of belongings in this period more carefully in travel.
(4) This MANGAL SHANI impact is lot more acute when Mangal is in Kendra yoga with Shani in Navamansh “daily D9 chart”.
a. MAY-11 to MAY-18 morning. Mangal Shani both in Vrishchik Navamansh!
b. MAY-28 to JUNE-02 morning (Mangal Kumbh Navamansh and Shani Vrishchik Navamansh)
c. JUNE-12 to JUNE-18 morning
(5) SURYA joins the party from JUNE-16 to JULY15 and joins Mangal Rahu in Mithun rashi opposite SHANI KETU. This is more disturbing till JUNE-23.
a. SHOWDOWN: Govt versus masses, police versus public, owners or mgmt versus workers and so on.
b. MANGAL means young people and Mithun means debates and article and words gone viral and causing damage.
c. Social media fueling fire and many incidents of rage on social media resulting in issues actually on the ground.
d. Major Gaali-Galoch possible on social media.
e. MANGAL moves on June-23 so it helps reduce tensions from then and hence initial 7 days are more tough from JUNE16.
f. SURYA SHANI come close pratiyog on July8 to July13 and hence this is lot more troubling with above Govt or REBEL effects.

All pandits are saying BJP Govt MODI own chart shows major power – but the planets are showing 3rd front! 🙂 India PM Tula lagna Vrishchik rashi – need to increase security and safety,

Interesting times ahead indeed. REMEDY is to keep patience and also “lovingly” ask errant driver or angered people around to be patient with care and love. OM NAMAHA: Shivay 21 times – 4 times a day helps a lot. But it is also imp to do the same effect to people in charge like bus drivers and so on. Simple acts of courtesy could help avoiding BHEESHAN effects on multiple lives. IMP to use love & care to influence others with respect – else angered folks need one more reason to get angrier.

Regards,
~Milind

Fact about sade sati

FACTS ABOUT SADE SATI

Every one [99% of people]thinks th at the 7.6years transit of saturn in 12th-1st-2nd signs from Moon is a dreadful period. But there is fact in it at all.It is the best phase of a natives life.It actually brings out the real stamina, talent in you.In 12th saturn makes you isolated and re taught the forgotten discipline. It means,he makes you stand on your own legs and energies.because of this, you are slowly habituated to not to depend on anyone. The 2nd phase, i. e in your natal janma rasi-he makes you to concentrate on things that you are neglected [remember saturn-moon conjunction is called as “Tapasya yoga” ot “Tapase yoga”].During this phase, native concentrates his full energies on what he actually wants. In his last 2.6years phase, saturn gives you the best of you as fruit of your the previous 5 years hard work.[tapasya and isolated discipline].

Saturns effects in these 7.6 years period varies with so many other factors like friendly sign ,BAV points while in his transit, aspects by other planets, star placement etc.One more fact about this sade sati is-everyone thinking that whenever saturn enters in to the 12th sign to Moon, they are under the influence of 7.6 Years saturn cycle but this is not a correct view to see sade sati.

For example-A native born in MOOLA 4th pada[say around 11 degrees-20 mins].For such native when saturn enters on 11 degrees-20mins in scorpio, his actual cycle of sade sati begins and not on the 1st degree of of scorpio i,e- in visakha but only saturn touches that 11d-20mins in scorpio onwards. For the exit of saturn from this cycle also, you have use this same calculation only.when you take the full rasi as saturns sign entry, then your sade sati should over by capricorn but actually it ends after saturn crosses 11d-20mins in Aquarius only.
so from 11-20 of scorpio to 11-20 of sagittarius is the 1st 2.6 yrs ,from 11-20 of sagittarius to 11-20 of capricorn is 2nd unit of 2.6 yrs and finally, the 11-20 of capricorn to 11-20 of aquarius is the last 2.6 yrs.
sade sati is a transit event.so whether such saturn gives good or bad depends on his and jupiter’s transit BAV points.so verify those 2 planets transit BAV points during your sade saturn periods..

saturn in 1st round acts as a tough opponent[not for all but for most].In 2nd round as guide. In 3rd round as preacher. For very few saturn acts as a humanitarian in his 4th round.

My point :

I think sade sati does not impact those people very much who are used to working with the Saturn energy, I have Saturn influencing my natal Moon and lagna, Saturn is my atmakarak also. Hence I am naturally very realistic, persistent, consistent and think long term by nature .

Watch all these key points while judging the sade sati cycles carefully friends.

Hora

HORA

WRITTEN BY VEDIC JYOTISHI SHANKER JI

In this article we will discuss about Hora. Hora is derived from the word AHORATRA. Hora deals with the sustenance(2nd house) hence the varga chakra associated with this D-2.2nd house deals with Money and fixed balances which can be in the form of Hard or Liquid cash.

It can be in the form of Jewelleries also either in gold or silver or in the form of Bonds which can be encashed at any point of time..

Parasara Hora deals with such issues related to money at our disposal for our sustenance.

Two important factors have to be considered when we talk about Hora 1)Demand 2)Supply.

Moon is demand as society is involved where Sun is supply as it is the prime activity of the Sun.Without Sun no living being can survive be it either living or non living things.

All the grahas are divided into 2 groups. 1)Demand and 2)Supply. Jupiter,Sun,Mars are very strong in the Sun hora and Moon,Venus and Saturn are very strong in the Moon Hora.

Money,Men and Material are considered are three vital resources which are controlled by Sun,Mars and Jupiter hence if all these three planets are in the Sun Hora then all the resources are abundantly available and the same goes to Moon,Venus and Saturn are good in the Moon Hora. Planets in the Sun hora are considered day strong and if placed in the Moon hora they are night strong.

Mercury is that planet will act as per its placement. Mercury is a business related planet hence it has the pure qualities of businessman. Mercury is that planet which will pick up products from the producers(Sun) and deliver to the Society(Moon). Mercury is of a changeable nature hence it will change it colors depending with whom he is placed.

Nodes like Rahu and Ketu also have a role to play in the Hora. Nodes being always in the retrograde Moon Rahu is more strong in Moon Hora and Ketu in Sun Hora.Rahu and ketu tend to create extreme shortage of supply as the demand goes up and Ketu does the same by the way of automation.

Lagna in every varga chakra is important and the Lagna in D-2 favours the sign where it is placed in the sense if the Lagna is placed in Sun Hora then it favour production and the reverse when placed in the Moon Hora.

Sign is of 30 degrees hence when divided by 2 which we 15 degrees each hence the first hora will be of 0-15 and the 2nd Hora is of 15-30 degrees.Sun rules the first hora of the ODD sign and Moon rules the Second Hora of Even sign which means 0-15 degrees of the ODD sign goes to Sun while 15-30 degrees of the EVEN sign goes to Moon hora.

The power of the Sun will be of 100% when the Sun is in 0 degree of the ODD sign and 15 degree of the EVEN sign. The strength will come down to 75% when Sun is in 7 degrees of the ODD sign and 22 degrees of the EVEN sign and further diminishes to 25% when the Sun is in 15 degrees of the ODD sign and 30 degree of the EVEN sign and the Sun strength reduces further when it is in Moon Hora.

For a planet like Jupiter,Sun and Mars being male they give good results when placed in ODD sign in the Sun hora and in the same way all Female signs like Venus,Saturn and Moon when placed in the EVEN sign and in Moon Hora will give good results.

Below is the hora chart of the India wealthiest person Mukesh Ambani..Here the lagna is rising in Cancer sign denoting what the native favours and here being in the Moon hora native will favours DEMAND and it will be his main moto.Sun is in its own sign and here it would also denote that Supply will also be the same as the demand is.

Saturn in ODD sign and being an enemy of Sun will disrupt everything and creates artificial Demand in the market. Mercury is in EVEN sign hence it will act as a retailer and procures material from the businessmen and supplies to the society.

Aquarius asc and nature of house lords

AQUARIUS ASCENDANT AND NATURE OF HOUSE LORDS

WRITTEN BY ERNST WILHELM. POSTED BY KAREN WHITE.

The native with Aquarius Lagna (aka Ascendant or Rising Sign) is becoming individualized. As the soul travels from stone, to plant, to animal and then to human existence it is still not ready to return to Spirit. Not until the consciousness becomes individualized is it ready to return home. Being individualized is to be aware of one’s differences, similarities, pluses and minuses and accept them completely. This is to be psychologically healthy.

This is what occurs in Aquarius, which, lorded by Saturn, gives this through struggles that allow one to see who they really are and forces them to accept it. The native will therefore have personal insecurities that are a result of an acute awareness of their separateness and a great awareness of their differences.

Through detachment the native learns how to let go of any insecurities that cause them to act like they are more or different than they are, or that prevent them from doing the things they are inspired to. Accepting themselves as they are is an important factor to their well-being and happiness.

The evolutionary goal is to develop the qualities of the opposing sign, Leo. The Aquarius native must learn to see the uniqueness of their personality. That in standing as an individual they are playing the role offered to them in this incarnation. Doing this with detachment allows them to fully enjoy their lives and be free from the psychological suffering that Saturn, as the lagna lord, may give.

Partnerships tend to be with those that support the native’s individuality, or with more dynamic, magnetic, or self-centered people that help the native to recognize their own individuality when confronted by their partner’s.

Aquarius Ascendant and Nature of House Lords
Sun as 7th Lord
The Sun are those the Person carries the Pot to.

The Sun, as the 7th lord, indicates the Aquarius native’s identification with others. A large part of the native’s identity is created through their intimate associations and partners. Others serve to give the native confidence. The Sun may give important activities with groups consisting of like-minded individuals. Due to ruling an angle, the Sun is a temporal neutral for the Aquarius native, as a natural malefic however, the Sun may separate the native from those areas it affects due to public or personal involvement.

Moon as 6th Lord
The Moon is the lack of water in the Empty Pot, either that which is not there, or that which was given out.

The Moon, as the 6th lord, gives the Aquarius native a weak self-image and a mind that easily succumbs to depression. Since the 6th house is an upachaya (growing house), the Moon indicates that the native will develop a healthier self-image as they age, but in youth they are particularly prone to suffer from social inadequacies as a result of their poor self-image.

The Moon ruling the 6th house also indicates a gentleness and humanitarian mentality that prefers peace. Socially, the Moon connects them to the lower classes and makes them ideal people of the masses. As the 6th lord, the Moon is a temporal malefic and may give opposition and struggles in life that results in the native feeling depressed and empty. If this is severe, it may be a cause of addictions.

As a natural benefic, however, the bright Moon gives a care in work that provides slow growth and improvement to the areas it influences. As a natural malefic, the dark Moon gives struggles with those things it influences with the result that the native does not feel like their needs have been met.

Mars as 3rd and 10th Lord
Mars are the arms, strengthened from carrying the Pot.

Mars, as the 3rd and 10th lord, indicates the Aquarius native’s independent will and activities, as well as a strong attachment to those things they think should be activated. Due to the 3rd house lordship, Mars becomes a temporal malefic as the will he indicates is usually one of selfish interest, one that resists authority, and wants to do what it thinks should be done. Mars is the rebellious nature of the Aquarius, which they are often known for. As a natural malefic, Mars may cause conflict with authorities and associates, while also creating conflict in the pursuit of their career and desires.

Mercury as 5th and 8th Lord
Mercury is the erupting of the Person’s true individuality.

Mercury, as the 5th and 8th lord, gives an original, ingenious mentality and creativity that is not afraid to think of the unusual or break social taboos. Mercury gives the capacity for the native to become himself, without any judgements or harm directed towards others. Mercury gives an innate talent for occult sciences and counseling.

Mercury also gives luck that may give unexpected windfalls, although the native’s luck is usually unsteady due to the 8th house lordship. Due to ruling the 5th house, Mercury becomes a temporal benefic, though the 8th house lordship will often incline them to express their finest in an unconventional manner. As a natural benefic, Mercury gives the intelligence with which to make the best of any situation.

Jupiter as 2nd and 11th Lord
Jupiter is value of the Pot.

Jupiter, as the 2nd and 11th lord, represents the great gains possible by an Aquarius native. Jupiter is a triple indicator of wealth; it rules two houses of wealth and is the natural producer of wealth as well. Jupiter, however, generally inclines the native to amass those things that would indicate that they are of a valuable sort in order to make up for any insufficiencies they may experience.

Due to ruling the 11th house, Jupiter is a temporal malefic that is intent on making name and fame for itself, though generally by doing good deeds. As a natural benefic, Jupiter makes the native generous with their wealth, and this helps them manifest more wealth.

Venus as 4th and 9th Lord
Venus is the Pot.

Venus, as the 4th and 9th lord, is the devoted heart of the Aquarius native. Once an ideal is found that fulfills the inner needs of the native, they become solidly devoted and in fact proud of that which they have found. This is not an empty pride, but one based on recognition of something wonderful and truthful. Venus also indicates patriotic pride as well.

Due to ruling the 9th house, Venus is a temporal benefic for the Aquarius native. Sharing its lordship with the 4th house, an angle, Venus becomes a yogakaraka for the Aquarius native and the single best planet for them. As a natural benefic, Venus is capable of giving easily acquired fortune and happiness.

Saturn as 1st and 12th Lord
Saturn is the Person, who is carrying the pot.

Saturn, as the 1st and 12th lord, gives the Aquarius native a tendency towards loss of self, which can be great if there are spiritual tendencies present allowing the native to cultivate spiritual detachment and renunciation, otherwise this may manifest as great personal wastage. Ruling the house of loss and being the planet of loss, Saturn creates loss in the native’s life as a result of personal indolence, or possibly renunciation.

As the lagna lord, Saturn is a temporal benefic, although as a delaying factor, Saturn will cause delays in the native finding fulfillment until the native develops a healthy self-esteem. As a natural malefic, Saturn will cause some element of loss and separation, which the native themselves is responsible for, either through a desire for renunciation or due to ineptitude and lack of confidence.

Saturn affecting profession in vedic astrology

SATURN AFFECTING PROFESSION IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

AUTHOR – Author – Bijesh Menon

In a Vedic horoscope, Saturn is feared and has a bad reputation of a planet showering adversities in life. The duties assigned to Saturn are all bad if seen from the materialistic life point of view, but what should we note here is the way Saturn acts in a horoscope.

Every astrologer or jyotishi will tell you that Saturn causes delay not a denial. Being the slowest planet among navagraha, Saturn imposes this trait on whatever he influences. In Vedic Astrology, Saturn is the greatest teacher. Saturn has the responsibility to give troubles to one to make the native understand his/her faults and fall back to the right path. Hence, whenever Saturn is causing a difficulty in one’s life, there is a deeper meaning behind it. There will be a positive outcome in the future, if one can learn from one’s mistakes. Only when Saturn acts with the combined influence of other malefic planets, things take an ugly turn. Otherwise when Saturn alone imposes a struggle on somebody, the situation will lead to successful and fruitful situation in future.

In a horoscope, if Saturn is influencing the 10th house, no matter how much benefic he is in the horoscope, Saturn will give struggles to the native to come up in life. Saturn causes trouble to one’s career when he is either posited in the 10th itself or in the 4th house in the horoscope. For such natives to have an initial breakthrough in career they will have to cross many hurdles. But they will slowly get into the rhythm and will rise to a very strong position in professional life. They will have to put extra efforts to achieve success. But as stated above the trouble is only in initial stage and that experiences will help the native stand hard as a rock against any odd situations in career in the future. If Saturn is posited in the lagna then his aspect over the 10th also will create problems in the same passion as stated above but such persons will be slightly lucky with lesser amount of struggles.

However, Saturn’s position in the 8th house in a Vedic horsocope and the 3rd aspect/drishti over the 10th house is a bad yoga. In such cases the person will have to go through all adversities in life to get settled in career. Instability in career will be the most worrying factor for the native irrespective of the line of profession. Such natives may be having great abilities in their profession but will have to face frustrations in life because of the lack fortune they may have. Likewise, when Saturn’s dasha is on even though he has no role to do with the 10th house one may face many hardships regarding profession. But if he is a benefic for that horoscope then there will good rewards for the native for his hard work towards the end of the dasha especially in the sub period of Jupiter.

The combined influence of Sun-Saturn in the 10th house is bad for career. Special reference has to be made about the influence of Saturn over Sun who is in the lagna or the 10th house in a horoscope by the means of aspect or yoga. If Saturn is influencing Sun as above, one will have a downfall in career at least once in life adversely affecting the name and respect of the native in the society. Interestingly, such natives will face this downfall most likely when transit Saturn affects the natal Sun. Sun’s or Saturn dasha or sub period is immaterial and just the transit is enough. Other planetary combinations have to strong enough in horoscope, especially the position of the Lagna and 10th lords and this combination will help the native to sustain in the situation and have a recovery from the pitfall.

While considering the transit of Saturn, special reference has to be given about Saturn’s transit over the 10th, 4th and 8th houses in a horoscope. While transiting through 10th and 4th house, Saturn brings in change for the native. Many will have a transfer or change in place at this time. For some, there could an opening to go abroad. The entire period of this transit will cause uneasiness and struggle in profession. Pressures from the superiors, inability to perform well and lack of recognition are the results of these transits. Many will face difficulties to get the deserved promotions and elevations at this time. The transit of Saturn through the 8th house will be causing all the above said problems but with much more intensity and obstacles causing insurmountable situations for the native. If such a transit of Saturn influencing the 10th house is conjoined with transit Rahu or Ketu then the situation will be worse and only the transit Jupiter’s strong influence over this conjunction could help the native to have some reprieve.
