According to your horoscope which God to worship? Answered by Arsh Mishra (from quora)

HOW CAN U FIND OUT WHICH GOD TO WORSHIP , AS PER YOUR HOROSCOPE ?

VERY NICELY EXPLAINED

There are two kinds of worship or Bhakti as mentioned in Vedic literature.

Nishkaam Bhakti
Sakaam Bhakti
Any form of worship done to achieve a desire or fulfill a longing is known as Sakaam Bhakti or worship done to appease your mind. On the other hand, any form of worship done without a desire, without longing, without wanting anything in return.

There is a very interesting story in Shiv Mahapuran about tthe two kinds of bhakti. Once Parvati asks Shiv as to why he, Vishnu and Brahma go around giving boons to everyone who prays to them when Nandi, Narada, etc. who are their most loyal servants dont get anything in return.

To this, Shiv says that there are two kinds of worship. Nishkaam bhakti which is done without any desire and does not seek any reward is the first and the greatest kind of devotion. The person chooses his/her own deity and own method of worship. Sakaam bhakti is the second kind of devotion, done in order to get some desired wish or blessing. The deity is chosen based on the kind of result one is looking for and the method of worship is one that can quickly get results. Then Shiv went on to say that there is a fundamental difference between the two. The one practicing Sakaam Bhakti is blessed by Shiva’s boon or Vishnu’s boon. But the one practicing Nishkaam bhakti attains to Shiv or Vishnu themselves and hence no longing or desire remains. Sakaam Bhakti is for those who seek materialistic growth. Nishkaam bhakti is for those who seek spiritual advancement.

As far as Nishkaam bhakti is concerned, each person has their own inclination and chooses their own method of worship. As for Sakaam bhakti, the following is an extract from one of the articles my father once wrote.

For remedies, Nepali astrologers rely on Hindu, Buddhists and Tantric Gods and Goddesses. But they have some speciality. If in the birth chart any planet is weak or evil, one has to appease that house’s ruler God where the planet is posited.
In Vimshotri dasa system House rulers are as follows:

First house ruler : Shiva
Second house ruler: Kuber
Third house ruler: Kumar

Fourth house ruler: Brahma
Fifth house ruler: Saraswati
Sixth house ruler: Varun
Seventh house ruler: Parvati
Eighth house ruler: Yam
Ninth house ruler: Laxmi
Tenth house ruler: Visnu
Eleventh house ruler: Ganesh
Twelfth house ruler: Agni

Worshiping the house ruler deity whose dasa is operating and causing ill effect minimizes the evil caused to that house.

But in Yogini dasa system House god is different. In Yogini dasa, the Dasham-Mahavidya Adhipati are worshiped.

The house rulers as per Yogini dasa are as follows:
First House ruler: Shiva
Second House ruler: Kamala
Third House ruler: Tara
Fourth House rule: Brahmayani
Fifth house ruler: Dhumawati
Sixth house ruler: Bagalamukhi
Seventh house: Pravati
Eighth house ruler: Kali
Ninth House ruler: Matangi
Tenth House ruler: Swadhashi
Eleventh House ruler: Chhinmasta
Twelfth House: Bhairavi

For example, if Yogani dasa ruler is third house lord or positioned in third house and is not giving good result, one has to worship Tara.

Please note that in both house ruler God [ in vimshotri or yogini] 1st house is ruled by Shiva and seventh by Parvati —- it is the Shiva-Shiv that sustains the generations or cause of creation.

Confusion on God’s to worship

CONFUSION ON GOD’S TO WORSHIP

When in doubt about which God to pray to, you may chant Ram Naam. This is sufficient to propitiate the Nava-Grahas.

Sun = Sri Rama represents the Sun and by chanting Ram Naam, Sun is propitiated. If Lord Shiva were to represent the Sun, please note that it was Lord Shiva Himself who advised Goddess Parvathi that uttering the name “Ram” just once is equivalent to chanting 1000 names of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, Lord Shiva is a great fan of Ram Naam and will be mighty pleased if one chants Ram Naam to propitiate Sun.

Moon = Goddess Parvathi represents the Moon. As explained above, Goddess Parvathi sought and obtained advice from Lord Shiva on the easy way to chant the 1000 names of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, she too is a great fan of Ram Naam and will be pleased if one chants Ram Naam to propitiate the Moon. Even if Lord Krishna were to be considered to represent the Moon, since both Lord Krishna and Lord Rama are the avatars of Lord Vishnu, we can be quite sure that Lord Krishna will be mighty pleased if one chants Ram Naam to propiate the Moon.

Mars = Lord Subramanya (also known as Lord Muruga or Lord Kartikeya) is the son of Lord Shiva Himself. Therefore, Lord Subramanya will be delighted with you if you follow his Dad’s advice and chant Ram Naam to propiate Mars. Lord Hanuman, who is also considered to represent Mars is the Greatest Devotee of Lord Ram. He himself is eternally present wherever Ram Naam is being chanted and will certainly bless all those who remember Ram Naam to propitiate Mars.

Mercury = Lord Vishnu represents Mercury. Lord Shiva has advised that chanting Ram Naam is the easy way to chant the 1000 names of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, remembering Ram Naam is the easy way to propitiate Mercury.

Jupiter = Lord Shiva who represents Jupiter has Himself advised the chanting of Ram Naam. Therefore, he will be pleased if Ram Naam is chanted to propitiate Jupiter.

Venus = Goddess Lakshmi who represents Venus has Herself incarnated as Goddess Sita who is the consort of Lord Rama. Therefore, she will be pleased if one chants Ram Naam to propitiate Venus.

Saturn = Lord Maha Vishnu represents Saturn and chanting Ram Naam is the easy way to chant the 1000 names of Lord Vishnu . Therefore remembering Ram Naam is the easy way to propitiate Saturn.

Rahu = Goddess Durga who is the fierce form of Goddess Parvathi represents Rahu. Goddess Parvathi herself sought and obtained advice from Lord Shiva on the easy way to chant the 1000 names of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, she too is a great fan of Ram Naam and will be pleased if one chants Ram Naam to propitiate Rahu.

Ketu = Lord Ganesha who is the son of Lord Shiva represents Ketu. Therefore, Lord Ganesha will be delighted with you if you follow his Dad’s advice and chant Ram Naam to propitiate Ketu.

Spiritual qualities of planets/ written by K N Rao

LESSON FROM RESPECTED K. N RAO JI

SPIRITUAL QUALITIES OF PLANETS.

What spiritual qualities each planet (the nine we are using) represents is being given briefly.

SUN
The Sun, lord of our solar system, has been identified in some Sanskrit stotras as Lord Vishnu but generally, it is with Lord Shiva that he is identified. It does not matter which of the Trinity he represents. The important point to remember is that he awakens the thirst for spiritual life, blesses one with divine knowledge, described as Gyana, which is why he has been described as Atmakaraka also (not Jaimini astrology where a planet with the highest degree becomes the Atmakaraka). Therefore, Sun is associated with philanthropic tendencies and has a Sattwick nature.

MOON

If the Sun is the atma (soul), the Moon is the Manas or the mind.Mental qualities are represented by the Moon. It is the mind that creates the feeling of happiness or unhappiness. A mind that is under control is a mind that develops powers of concentration and meditation. A Moon afflicted by Saturn and Mars creates strong feelings of detachment or vairagya. In the horoscopes of great yogis and saints this combination is generally seen. I have referred to many such horoscopes in my books, particularly, in the Yogis, Destiny and the Wheel of Time.
Pure spiritual tendencies, love to go to sacred places, worshipping Goddess, kindness, soft and tender feelings born of Sattwick nature are associated with the Moon. It is for this reason that a strong, exalted or vargottama Moon has always been praised.

MARS

“Bhoomi-suto”, is a well-known synomym for Mars meaning the child of the earth. Also known as the commander in chief, Mars represents the determination to do sadhana, if such promises exist in any horoscope. He represents Lord Vishnu and his various forms. Among the Vedas he has been identified with the Sama Veda.
It is my experience that in the case of any guru, where he (Mars) influences the 4th or the 10th houses, he builds ashrams. In the 5th house, Mars gives the drive to become the builder of religious institution. Builders, estate agents have to have a prominent Mars influencing their 4th or 10th houses or their lords. Extend it to men in religious and spiritual line and you will see builders of ashrams, temples, mosques, churches, synagogues and religious institutions, with a strong desire to acquire land and building .

MERCURY

Maharshi Parashara prescribes recitation of the Vishnu Sahastranaama in the periods of Mercury. The identification of Mercury with Lord Vishnu being so clear, a strong and well-placed Mercury, (in the spiritual houses, like 4, 8,12 or the Dharma houses like 1, 5, 9 gives a deep yearning for the study of scriptures and also astrology which is a divine science, being the most prominent Vedanga.
Mercury generally causes the undertaking of pilgrimages but not for a long stay. To build temples of Lord Vishnu is a well-known quality of Mercury. The manifestations of Lord Vishnu in all forms being the identity of Mercury, he is a Vaishnava par excellence. Mercury promotes a strong tendency to acquire self-control. Mercury being a ritualist, attraction for mantras and Yantras is a well known tendency released by Mercury. He represents Atharva Veda

JUPITER

In astrology, if Jupiter and Mercury are not good, one will be a poor predictor. The house of speech, the second house, getting associated with Jupiter through position or aspect shows gifts of prophecy, unless the second house or the second lord are bad otherwise. It also makes one a good preacher. A preacher has to have knowledge of scriptures suppoted by personal spiritual experience.
Jupiter represents the quintessence of dharma. The finer aspects of divine knowledge and spiritual practices like penances, worship of god, doing of charity are commonly associated with Jupiter. Varahamihira has praised the position of Jupiter in the 10th house. Being a strict moralist, Jupiter motivates one to be ethical in conduct. Since Jupiter represents Lord Shiva, a Jupiter-dominated person does not mind making sacrifices for true religious and spiritual causes.

VENUS

Traditionally, the Guru of Asuras, Venus is a learned religious person. Venusian traits can be showy. One may develop the tendency to turn his religious zeal into piety. I have seen hundreds of horoscopes of men and women with Venus in the 10th house becoming more showy than sincere in spiritual pursuits. Perhaps, distractions in their lives, caused by Venus are many. Among Vedas, Venus represent Yajur-Veda. The likeable and admirable side of Venus is love for religious songs, love to decorate religious places and compose music for, particularly female goddesses.

SATURN

Saturn described as the planet of misery is a totally fallacious statement. Without a favourable Saturn in the birth horoscope and in transit one can never develop deep detachment. Saturn represents self-abnegation, tyaga. It is tyaga and Gyana that become real strong foundation for spiritual life. A weak Saturn has been seen to attract a sadhak, if there is also afflicted Moon, attraction towards inferior deities.

RAHU

Rahu has been praised by Ramanujacharya for dips in the Ganga Moon If the Sun is the atma (soul), the Moon is the Manas or the mind. and going to pilgrimages because he is an extrovert, unlike Ketu, who makes one an introvert. Rahu impels one to take to religious and spiritual practices many times in a rather unconventional way and, can cause attraction for non-conventional religious approach.

KETU

It is difficult to decide who between Jupiter and Ketu is a better salvation-giver. Yet, Ketu has been called the salvation-giver because he is the embodiment of subtlest divine secrets. Ketu in the twelfth has been praised. Ketu always attracts one towards seclusion, observance of mouna the vow of silence. The Dasha Avatara There is one and only one God as the great Narayana Kavacham in the Srimad Bhagvatam emphsises. The Lord, being playful, assumes many shapes, foms always. He adorns himself with various weapons. The Brihat Parashara Shatra, world’s greatest astrological classic, refers to the nine incarnations of God about which we know and also refers to the tenth Incarnation as God Kalki.

SHANI GURU YUTI , PRATIYOG OR SHANI DRISHTI ON GURU IN A BIRTH -TIME (NATAL ) CHART (SATURN AND JUPITER

WRITTEN BY MILIND N CHITAMBAR

TRANSITS: As given point in time the happiness index of a person is governed predominantly by GURU and SHANI: say 80%! The rest of the planets govern 20% and more so then show the months and weeks when this happiness or some lessons will be delivered to a person. All the rest of the (Except Rahu Ketu & Neptune Uranus) planets change all the signs in a year or say 18 months for Mars. So they do add or minus to the happiness index shown by Gochar GURU and SHANI. Mahadasha Antardasha have their own impact to course which is not considered in the above paragraph assuming it is middle class kind of a maha and antardasha.

So – if Transit SHANI GURU is so imp – their positions in a chart are of VAST importance. More so when they are aspecting each other. Guru aspecting ANY planet(s) in the chart is a BLESSING! Shows sense of purpose, greater goodness and well aligned efforts related to the topics associated with the aspected planet(s). GURU aspecting SHANI is about having good mass mentality, what people want, what consumers want and ability to guide/mentor and consult poors, workers, employees and so on (large number people in a group). Topic for this article is SHANI drushti on GURU. There are 4 types obviously.

Where GURU SHANI are at the time of your birth – at the age of 60 again they are exactly there. Guru is at the same position as birthtime at the ages of running 12th 24th 36th 48th 60th etc and SHANI is about 30th 60th 90th. As your can see 60th is common to both of them. It is significant fact that SHANI GURU do NOT return the same sign at the same time as birth for 60 more years! It means many of the karmic patterns repeat at 12 24 36 48 60 72 etc but more so 30 and 60!! RAHU KETY cycle is (9) 18 (27) 36 (45) 54 (63) 72 etc so they are also significant ages.

The observations below apply LOT MORE when there are planets in DHANU and MEEN Rashi as GURU impacted by Shani is more of an issue and it gets extended to these planets too. YUTI Or Pratiyog helps the planets in MAKAR and KUMBH Rashi and GURU drushti on SHANI elevates these planets.

Common aspects for all of the below configurations are:
(1) Past Birth Karma with KIDS (Santati) is not good: Delayed kids around or after the age of 29/30. Kids before 29 could have chronic health issues.
a. More so when GURU is owner of the 5th house OR SHANI drushti is also on the 5th house and or owner of the 5th house (L5)
b. Lesser so when Shani itself is L5 and not aspecting 5th house.
c. Lesser so when GURU aspects 5th house and or L5.
(2) You have stolen some knowledge in the past birth or not paid for fully or some GURU (institution/college/university etc) was deceived in the past birth in some ways:
a. This birth “patented” or precious or KEY Knowledge comes to you after the age of 30.
b. You must prove yourself worthy of the knowledge.
c. More efforts needed to earn confidence and respect of GURU type people.
d. Some knowledge or information is stolen or credit is not given till the age of 30.
e. Stock options or profit sharing etc starts to come later in life.
f. Good advice is difficult to come by in early life.
(3) Shani is ON THE JOB and experience and hard-work, execution and GURU is class-room knowledge or directly gained knowledge from books or people. So, there is a tussle – where SHANI doesn’t want you to continue education beyond a certain point and wants to “use” it. GURU wants to accumulate knowledge. It is possible to take a break from education to work and take a break for career for education to get ahead with this yuti.
(4) Expansion GURU) of (life and career is seen more after the age of 30 when there is enough experience (SHANI) coupled with knowledge accumulated till the age of 24.
(5) The houses OWNED by GURU – will see some delays or some lesser results or weaker results till the age of 30/31. Guru could own any house – which needs to be checked – more so check DHANU Rashi house in the chart and lesser so MEEN Rashi house unless Vrishchik lagna and Kirk lagna where MEEN is 5 and 9th house owner resp.

NOW let us look what ADDITIONAL things apart from above could be seen from following configurations. Above things are common to all below configurations.

GURU SHANI YUTI
(1) The Most effective where above observations apply a lot. There is not a tussle like Pratiyog but harmonious addition of effects.
(2) It is amicable one which makes a person humble. There is tendency to not fight the Gurus or protest some stolen knowledge or credit assuming somewhere you deserve it early in life! Pratiyog fights with it.
(3) Highly advised to not have kids till 29/30.
(4) YUTI Or Pratiyog helps the planets in MAKAR and KUMBH Rashi and GURU drushti on SHANI elevates these planets.
(5) Planets in DHANU and MEEN Rashi are impacted too as GURU impacted by Shani is extended to them.
(6) GURU Antardasha SHANI sub-period and SHANI MAHA GURU Antardasha or Shani Antardasha and Guru sub-period are tough. GURU MAHA – SHANI Antardasha is tougher too.
(7) SHANI’s 7th drushti is neutralized a lot in such case as GURU drushti is also on that house more so when the 7th house is Makar or Kumbh. Not as much if the 7th house is DHANU or MEEN Rashi! 🙂

GURU SHANI Pratiyog
(1) Very effective for all the above observations and that too with tussles/boxing/confrontations and debates etc with GURU people.
(2) Maybe difficult to just avoid kids till 30 but going thru actual chronic issues with the kids.
(3) YUTI Or Pratiyog helps the planets in MAKAR and KUMBH Rashi and GURU drushti on SHANI elevates these planets.
(4) GURU Antardasha SHANI sub-period and SHANI MAHA GURU Antardasha or Shani Antardasha and Guru sub-period are tough. GURU MAHA – SHANI Antardasha is tougher too.
(5) SHANI’s 3rd drushti is neutralized a lot in such case as GURU drushti is also on that house – -more so if 3rd house is Makar or Kumbh. Not as much if the 3rd house is DHANU or MEEN Rashi! 🙂

(8) GURU is 10th from SHANI
This is relatively mild but absolute! As SHANI is not in check by GURU. So, the common observations are the ones mostly apply in this case. The 23rd 24th age is tough with the knowledge stealing but 24th is OK as transit GURU helps. 23rd is a bit tough as credit or knowledge could be stolen. Delayed kids are helpful but not completely necessary if L5 or 5tht house is in GURU drushti and NOT in Shani drushti. SHANI drushti on GURU usually shows damage happened in the family 8 years BEFORE your birth and lesser later on.

(9) GURU is 3rd from SHANI
This is the mildest one – assuming GURU is not in intense degrees like RashiGandaant. The issues is the 30.31 age is extended to 35 36 with paying of some stuff even at that age additional to whatever is by 30th. Shows 20th /21 as a tougher age with knowledge acquisition. This is LOT more tough with kids IF L5 and 5th house is in SHANI drushti and NOT in GURU drushti. That means kids related obligations to be aid gets extended to the age of 36 too.

REMEDIES:
(1) GRATITUDE: THANKING everyone who gives good advice OVERLTLY! Use FB What app and all forums to acknowledge good advice, a god article and so on. More and more people with share their knowledge with you slowly!
(2) EDUCATION: Regardless of all sorts of reasons not to complete education – CPMPLETE it… somehow!! Ages of 18th and 24th running are VERY IMP as they reduce SHANI impact on GURU and give you chance to get good advice and good GURU! Read good books and pay attention to anyone who says something about some book being good.
(3) KIDS – Donate to orphanages, spend time money and efforts for less privileged kids. – This is MAGICAL – Start as early as possible in your life. Quality of your KIDS’s health will increase magically!!

Rahu in 9th house Good or bad?

Rahu in the 9th House – Good or Bad

Rahu is a powerful planet. Rahu is the head of demon so it affects our mental approach to life. In the horoscope the house it occupies shows the area of life with our deepest desires and where we will strive the hardest but may also find it difficult to feel fulfilled. Rahu creates confusion, it is more of a planet of metaphysical world – an out of the box thinker.

9th house (Dharma Bhava) is one of the trikona houses and your fortune house. It shows the wisdom and religion related features – a person’s interest in spirituality, philosophy, religion, pilgrimage, meditation, charity, law, higher education is seen from here. Like 3rd house, 9th house is a strong indicator of travel primarily foreign and long-distance journeys. 9th house is very prominent house representing father. Sun is considered the karak planet for 9th house.

Rahu here will confuse native with his religion and he may change his religion and religious values. Rahu creates obsession with the things so native will be obsessed to develop higher wisdom in life, find purpose of life, they can be obsessed over religion or spirituality. They can be a great philosopher but in Rahu style. 9th Rahu is significator of foreign or foreigners or foreign religion and teaching. This position is fortunate for taking up politics due to native’s oratory skills and common-sense. Due to Rahu nature and 9th house being the house of law many times it gives the person a tendency to defy the law in some way for own benefit, this can indicate a disregard for religion also. Rahu in the ninth house dreams of being some type of teacher or publisher. The person gains happiness by devoting his energies to spiritual, mystical, and enlightened things. Travel to foreign places will play a major role in his life. The person may pay little attention to relationships with siblings and relatives and will prefer to stay away from them. However, he will be interested in their properties or assets and will try to posses it with whatever manner. Rahu Drishti to 5th house can represent appetite for higher education, more children, an unorthodox marriage.

Overall, Rahu in the ninth house indicates cravings for religion and higher knowledge, and great power after the age of forty-one. However, there may also be difficulties with the father and religious or spiritual teachers. Rahu in the 9th house alone is not very effective and not at all with Sun, Moon, Mars, or Saturn. Although it may be fruitful with Venus, Jupiter or Mercury, or having some beneficial aspect from 9th house lord.

9th Rahu may also suggest presence of Pitri Dosha. Rahu is master in making illusion thus it will make native to pretend he belongs to the class elite, higher in the field of spirituality and religion like a Pope or Priest but in Rahu style – fake, unorthodox, illusive, rebellious, preaching and at the same time enjoying wine and beer, and doing other tamsik things. Rahu will try to be experimental in this house playing with all the features of 9th house.

Kantaka Shani /Branka Larsen

TROUBLES DUE TO SATURN’S TRANSIT

BRANKA LARSEN

KaNTaka Shani – meaning and definition

Kantaka (Sanskrit कण्टक) means a thorn, the point of a pin or a needle, sting, a prickle, a sharp stinging pain[1]. Shani is the planet Saturn, son of the Sun God, the slow-moving planet.

Kantaka Shani refers to the inauspicious effects that are attributed to Saturn’s transit through certain sensitive points in one’s horoscope. The effects are those as if the person is limping, or having a thorn in his foot, causing pain and obstacles in different areas of life.

When do we experience Kantak Shani?

Kantak Shani is formed at the time of Saturn’s transit over 1st, 4th, 8th or 10th house from (1) Ascendant, (2) Moon or (3) Arudha Lagna. Depending on the type of transit, this transit will manifest itself as:

From Lagna: mistakes of intelligence, reasoning and poor decision making,
From Moon: health issues including both mental and physical suffering, and
From Arudha Lagna: professional and financial suffering as well as reputation in general.
Principles behind this teaching

Saturn is a malefic (inauspicious) planet which, from a karmic view point, represents the baggage of our previous bad karma’s (actions, doings) based on the principle “as you sow, so shall your reap”.

In all above mentioned transits, the common thread is Saturn’s aspect on the 10th house or one’s Karma house through his full aspect of 3rd, 7th and 10th house from his placement.

The destructive power of Saturn’s aspect is well demonstrated in the tale of Shani in Ramayana, but there is more to it. As a dire enemy of Jupiter, significator for intelligence and knowledge, Saturn’s transit from Lagna causes failure of intelligence, gives ignorance and it can cloud judgment due to sorrow and suffering. The same transit from Moon causes health issues. Saturn is vayu (air element) planet that is responsible for decay, aging, dryness and vayu related diseases. He is as malefic for mental health as it is for physical. Saturn as tamas planet (tamas is one of the three guna’s or qualities and means mental darkness, ignorance, sorrow, dullness, etc.) and is surely to bring his effect onto one’s mind (Moon).

Arudha Lagna is yet another vital point in one’s horoscope representing our name, image and reputation, all that is part of this life’s maya or outer world. During mentioned transits Saturn is sure to bring obstacles in our worldly activities such as profession, finances, interaction with others, etc.

For the judgment of the extent to which this transit is inauspicious, judgment of divisional charts in the same manner is to be conducted.

How to remedy effects of KaNTak Shani?

Remedy for this gloomy period is to take the name of Rudra. In our tradition it is advised to recite Rudra Chamakam, 3rd anuvaka daily, all throughout this transit of Saturn!

Do something without expecting

Many of us have become fixated on results in our lives–results of our work, results of our studies, results of our investments, results of our interactions with others and the world around us, results of our generosity, results of our advice, and so many other things that we put our time, energy, and resources into. And perhaps rightly so… after all, society tends to judge us by what comes out of our work, and not necessarily the work itself. However, when we become overly concerned with results, we can begin to slide into the realm of wanting things to always turn out the way that we intended them to, with very little room for ambiguity or contradiction, and this can set us up for much misery and disappointment later on in our lives.

Perhaps you felt disappointed when something you had given to someone was not used how you had intended for it to be used or in line with how you believed is should be used, such as mishandling of money you had gifted. Or maybe you felt upset when someone did not express enough appreciation or gratitude for a kindness they bestowed. I have personally been guilty of both looking for and expecting results in many actions throughout my life. For instance, valuable time spent writing an application can quickly become frustrating when the work that I am putting into it is not turning out how I envisioned it would.

However, one of the most helpful things I have discovered in life is the importance of letting go of results. And while it is not always easy or first nature, and often times leads to the unfamiliar, I have come to realize that everything I do does matter in some way. And by walking away and not looking for specific results, or expecting things to fit my agenda, I can move on to the next task without building up stress or becoming frustrated.

We should tolerate the opinions, behaviors, and actions of others because we would wish for them to do the same for us. Perhaps the next time you give someone money, do not tell them how to spend it. Or when you offer up your advice, pay no heed to how they receive it. Because if you do, and they spend it in a different way or take a different course of action, you most likely will end up stressed out because they did not meet your expectations. Instead, live and let live. Do something nice for others and do it in a way that they will never know who did it. Offer your time and energy without expecting to receive any thanks. In time, you will begin to see the true joy of giving–a joy that is not dependent upon results.

Saturn affecting profession in vedic astrology / Brijesh Menon

SATURN AFFECTING PROFESSION IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

AUTHOR – Author – Bijesh Menon

In a Vedic horoscope, Saturn is feared and has a bad reputation of a planet showering adversities in life. The duties assigned to Saturn are all bad if seen from the materialistic life point of view, but what should we note here is the way Saturn acts in a horoscope.

Every astrologer or jyotishi will tell you that Saturn causes delay not a denial. Being the slowest planet among navagraha, Saturn imposes this trait on whatever he influences. In Vedic Astrology, Saturn is the greatest teacher. Saturn has the responsibility to give troubles to one to make the native understand his/her faults and fall back to the right path. Hence, whenever Saturn is causing a difficulty in one’s life, there is a deeper meaning behind it. There will be a positive outcome in the future, if one can learn from one’s mistakes. Only when Saturn acts with the combined influence of other malefic planets, things take an ugly turn. Otherwise when Saturn alone imposes a struggle on somebody, the situation will lead to successful and fruitful situation in future.

In a horoscope, if Saturn is influencing the 10th house, no matter how much benefic he is in the horoscope, Saturn will give struggles to the native to come up in life. Saturn causes trouble to one’s career when he is either posited in the 10th itself or in the 4th house in the horoscope. For such natives to have an initial breakthrough in career they will have to cross many hurdles. But they will slowly get into the rhythm and will rise to a very strong position in professional life. They will have to put extra efforts to achieve success. But as stated above the trouble is only in initial stage and that experiences will help the native stand hard as a rock against any odd situations in career in the future. If Saturn is posited in the lagna then his aspect over the 10th also will create problems in the same passion as stated above but such persons will be slightly lucky with lesser amount of struggles.

However, Saturn’s position in the 8th house in a Vedic horsocope and the 3rd aspect/drishti over the 10th house is a bad yoga. In such cases the person will have to go through all adversities in life to get settled in career. Instability in career will be the most worrying factor for the native irrespective of the line of profession. Such natives may be having great abilities in their profession but will have to face frustrations in life because of the lack fortune they may have. Likewise, when Saturn’s dasha is on even though he has no role to do with the 10th house one may face many hardships regarding profession. But if he is a benefic for that horoscope then there will good rewards for the native for his hard work towards the end of the dasha especially in the sub period of Jupiter.

The combined influence of Sun-Saturn in the 10th house is bad for career. Special reference has to be made about the influence of Saturn over Sun who is in the lagna or the 10th house in a horoscope by the means of aspect or yoga. If Saturn is influencing Sun as above, one will have a downfall in career at least once in life adversely affecting the name and respect of the native in the society. Interestingly, such natives will face this downfall most likely when transit Saturn affects the natal Sun. Sun’s or Saturn dasha or sub period is immaterial and just the transit is enough. Other planetary combinations have to strong enough in horoscope, especially the position of the Lagna and 10th lords and this combination will help the native to sustain in the situation and have a recovery from the pitfall.

While considering the transit of Saturn, special reference has to be given about Saturn’s transit over the 10th, 4th and 8th houses in a horoscope. While transiting through 10th and 4th house, Saturn brings in change for the native. Many will have a transfer or change in place at this time. For some, there could an opening to go abroad. The entire period of this transit will cause uneasiness and struggle in profession. Pressures from the superiors, inability to perform well and lack of recognition are the results of these transits. Many will face difficulties to get the deserved promotions and elevations at this time. The transit of Saturn through the 8th house will be causing all the above said problems but with much more intensity and obstacles causing insurmountable situations for the native. If such a transit of Saturn influencing the 10th house is conjoined with transit Rahu or Ketu then the situation will be worse and only the transit Jupiter’s strong influence over this conjunction could help the native to have some reprieve.

PROFESSION AND DOWNFALLS – PART I (RAHU -KETU AXIS )

AUTHOR – BIJESH MENON

THE RAHU -KETU AXIS AND UNSTABLE CAREER

The axis of Rahu and Ketu occurring in the fourth and tenth houses in a horoscope is one of the worst situations as far as profession is concerned. Irrespective of which planet (Rahu/Ketu) being posited in the tenth, the professional life of the native will suffer.

Rahu’s position in tenth house causes one to have frequent changes in his career. Such natives are much aggressive in their professional life. They seldom listen to others opinion and have strained relation with the co workers. They can be very impulsive which may lead them to making many a hasty decisions in career.

Rahu’s position in a fiery sign (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) in the tenth house: Rahu is an aggressor and when he gets posited in a fiery sign, his flares burn high. This will lead to native always getting in to adverse situations in the work place. He will have frequent arguments with his co workers and superiors. He will never care others word. He will quickly get bored with his work. He will work hard but most of his hard work would go unnoticed. Such natives may not change the line of profession frequently but change in the job is certain. Business men with this combination will seldom find success since they will never maintain good relation in their business circle. Their success in life will be only in patches.

Rahu position in a watery sign (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces): Rahu is less malefic than being located in a watery sign being posited in a fiery sign. The reason behind it is that Rahu will never attains much power in a watery sign like a fiery sign. But still Rahu will cause damage as much as possible because Rahu is uncomfortable in watery signs. In Pisces, Rahu is less harmful because Jupiter has a calming influence over Rahu as the depositor lord.

The natives with Rahu in the 10th house in a watery sign will have fewer changes in career but they tend to suffer more in their jobs. Such natives have a sense of frustration in their career and do not see many opportunities for change.

Rahu’s position in the tenth house in an earth sign (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn): Earth signs signify patience and practical approach. This influence on Rahu provides stability in career. Also, Rahu maintains a good relation with only a few planets and Venus and Mercury are among them. That’s the reason why Rahu is a less of a trouble in Taurus and Virgo. Such natives also may face some problems in their professional life and have the tendency to change jobs but will always hold their nerves with practical approach to the situation. Also they will have an attitude of seeing things from an angle of enjoyment and cooperation which will always help them stand strong even at the odd periods.

Rahu’s position in the tenth house in an airy sign (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius): In airy signs Rahu is most comfortable and causes least trouble. Once again two of the three airy signs Gemini and Libra are owned by Mercury and Venus who are friendly to Rahu. In Aquarius Rahu does not behave properly since the sign is owned by Saturn and the combination of Rahu-Saturn is always bad influence. Moreover most of the schools of astrology are of the opinion that for Rahu, Gemini and Virgo are like own houses. Taurus is considered Rahu’s exaltation sign. In practice, this has indeed been found to be true.

If Ketu is located in the tenth, then the native tends to suffer humiliation and hardship in their work life. The native will always find it difficult to enjoy their work because most likely he/she will be caught in a line of profession which is not the line of interest. But what makes Ketu’s case different is that such people will keep their frustrations and uneasiness unexpressed for long and then end it with a disastrous move. Unlike Rahu in the tenth, these people will not try to bring in a change in their career, but will ruin it by keep continuing at the same place and the performance going down each day, one day at a time. If Rahu forces one to have changes in the professional front even for no apparent reason, Ketu holds one from even reacting to adverse situations. And at last when they take a decision it will be pretty bad.

The transits of Rahu and Ketu are also adverse for career. Whenever the transit of either Rahu or Ketu has reference to the meridian point, there is tension in profession. A close examination however reveals that the transit of Ketu over the 10th house creates more trouble than than of Rahu. A transit of Rahu or Ketu over the natal 10th, either from Lagna or Moon, along with an influence of transit Saturn by the means of yoga or aspect, the situation gets worsened.
